UNA Tanzania's governance structure is divided into to 3 categories; The Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Executive Committee and the Secretariat. The General Annual Meeting is the supreme organ that makes all the supreme decisions. The Executive Committee is the main governance body and is responsible to guide the overall running of the association. The Secretariat is the management of UNA and implements the directives from the Executive Committee.
UNA Tanzania Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The Annual General Meeting of members is the supreme organ of UNA Tanzania. The AGM makes all the major decisions on the content and direction of our activities. It also approves the annual budgets and programmes, asses the performance of the Executive Committee and Secretariat as well as approve new branches of the Association. Once in every three years the Annual General meeting elects the Executive Committee. The Annual General Meeting is held annually, normally around September.
UNA Tanzania Executive Committee Members
UNA Tanzania is lead by an Executive Committee of eight (8) people. The Executive Committee of UNA Tanzania is the main governance organ after the AGM. The team is responsible to guide the overall running of the Association. The Executive Committee is lead by the UNA Tanzania Chairperson Ms. Malli Silesi .The Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General are ex-official members to the Executive Committee.
A new Executive Committee of the Association was elected in January 2011 for a Period of three years. The Executive Committee on its first meeting in October 2008 appointed a new Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General who will also serve a term of 3 years.

UNA Tanzania Secretariat
The Secretariat of UNA Tanzania is based in the main office in Dar es Salaam at the United Nation Compound. The Secretariat is lead by the Secretary General and is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organization. The Secretariat is composed of both local and international staff as well as Interns and volunteers. UNA Tanzania also has a Zone office in Mwanza lead by the Zonal Coordinator for the Lake Zone. The Secretariat works closely with various actors including the Government, The UN agencies, other non-state actors, bilateral partners and other international in fulfilling the mandate of the organization.
