INTRODUCTION
Mwanza City Council through Baraza la Madiwani has passed the Budget proposal (revenue and expenditure and development program) for the year 2011/2012 on April 2011.
The total budget of the proposal passed is Tshs. 62,851,620,169/=. This Budget is depending on three main areas as its source of fund: Mwanza City Council, Central Government, Community and Donors.
According to the analysis done by JITAMBUE FOUNDATION it shows that the fund allocated to development projects which fall under Millennium Development Goals (MDG) is Tshs. 20,665,987,045/= which is equal to 32.8% of the Mwanza City Council Budget
Also the analysis discovered that more than 80 percent of the money allocated to development projects which fall under Millennium Development Goals (MDG) depends on the Donors and the remaining percent is expected from Mwanza City Council 10.8% and 0.7 from the Community.
The analysis shows that MDG 1 (Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger) have given high priority.
